I was on the real real early end of the chicken pox vaccine -- my older siblings both got chicken pox, I got the vaccine, is how close the divide is there -- so it's in a weird cultural consciousness place for me where it's very much like... I'm very aware of the kind of problem chicken pox was, the phrase "as contagious as chicken pox" absolutely holds meaning to me, but I never actually got it. So I just get to have yet more reasons to be enraged and baffled by antivax people cause y'all? y'all, I never got chicken pox, I never even had to worry about getting chicken pox, and that is damn near miraculous within my lifetime.

• AHHHHHHHH DUCK, God fuck I love Justin, why do his characters always manage to be some of the most compelling shit I've ever heard
• I really really hope this coming arc has more Dani!!! She really hasn't had much of any airtime and we still know basically nothing about her. I am also SO EXCITED about Hollis. Guys this arc is gonna be awesome, I just know it.
• I've been relistening, this month I went from episode four until the end of the Gerblins arc and through all of Moonlighting
• I stand by the image of Gundran's burnt-out corpse in the middle of a circle of black glass that used to be Phandalin is still one of the single most haunting images in TAZ
• God absolutely everything with them meeting Lucretia and Fisher is hilarious but painful but the dramatic irony is just SO MUCH and it's Great but also I want to die. She refuses to tell them her name just kill me

The Bright Sessions:

• This last Bright Sides brought me so much genuine joy, I got so invested in her even just for this one episode

• Got to a ton of Shmanners and Sawbones and Flop House this month, not so much Ross and Carrie. I'm not... REALLY sure how much I actually like this show. I like it in THEORY more than I do in practice. But, it's still real early, so I want to keep giving them a chance

The Penumbra Podcast

• Episode 1.10-1.18 (end of the first season) | 21/67 episodes currently
• I love this show, I love Juno, I ship Juno and Peter SO DAMN HARD and the ending of this season KILLS me because GODDAMMIT Juno you and your fears of emotional intimacy, I UNDERSTAND I really do, but PLEASE go be with Peter and be happy
• I also really hope we get more of the Second Citadel? I don't love the standalone episodes (except the one with the queer ladies in the Old West) but I think I liked Second Citadel a lot and it clearly has a setup for more, and I'd be into it if this podcast had multiple continuing storylines like Thrilling Adventure Hour does

Sawbones

• Episode "Rabies"-"The Dancing Plague" | 75/261 episodes currently
• I'm getting obsessed with this show, I might end up binging my way to catch up once I get within, I dunno, fifty episodes or so
• Sydnee and Justin are just. Really good people. And I was so happy to hear them talking about Charlie and so glad she ultimately got to come home and be safe and happy and healthy

Shmanners

• There was one random day this month when I was just like. REALLY excited to listen to Shmanners. I hope I can get that into it more often.
• It's funny to hear Theresa and Sydnee both talk about being pregnant on their podcasts one after another, lol

• That last episode of Beyond Belief made me??? Feel a surprising amount of things???
• IS SPARKS NEVADA ACTUALLY GONNA HAVE A KID CAUSE THAT'S FUCKIN WILD
• I've started reading Watchmen and Captain Laserbeam feels like a show made in that universe made to subtly critique the Watchmen because someone couldn't do so outright

Within the Wires

• Current
• We finished season three and I'mmmmmmm freaked out!
• I wonder if we'll keep moving back in time until we eventually get to the disaster that caused all of this in the first place
• I'm subscribed to their Patreon now and we also got a new Black Box episode in December that I listened to this month! It's still weird to hear Jeffrey's voice lol, but this extra season/bonus whatever is growing on me

Wonderful!
